FAQ
Calculator questions
What is a good ROAS?
It depends on your margins. A business with 25% margins needs at least 4x just to break even, while one with 75% margins breaks even at about 1.3x. Use the break-even calculator to find your number, then aim above it.
What's the difference between ROAS and ROI?
ROAS compares revenue to ad spend only. ROI compares profit to all costs — product costs, fees and labor included. A campaign can have a healthy ROAS and still lose money if margins are thin.
How do I calculate break-even ROAS?
Divide 1 by your gross margin. At a 40% margin, break-even ROAS is 1 ÷ 0.40 = 2.5x. Break-even CPA is your average order value multiplied by your gross margin.
What commission should I offer affiliates?
Start from your margin and what competitors pay, then leave room for network fees and profit. Many programs also pay higher rates for top partners or new customers only.
