What’s Optimal Length for Social Media Posts?

September 25, 2017 // Chris Edwards

The common question I always get is, “How long should my tweet be?” or “How many words should be in a Facebook post”.

Buffer sought out the best answer for this by running a few data-driven tests. Their results were surprising. To us, we were shocked by the low character count of Facebook posts. Posts that are around 40 characters perform the best. Wow! Be sure to check out their data they collected on the ideal content lengths in further detail. Buffer also created this awesome infographic to make it easier to find the ideal length for Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, blog posts and even headlines for your blog post.
